Amount: Provides 100 cadets a full four-year ROTC college scholarship, including room and board, at select Minority Serving Institutions (MSI), Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI). This scholarship was established by former U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff (CSAF) General David L. Goldfein.

TYPE 1 Pays full (100 percent) college tuition and authorized fees at any public or private institution with an Air Force ROTC detachment. Type 1 selectees will also receive a monthly living expense stipend and an annual book stipend.
TYPE 2 Pays up to $18,000 per year ($9,000 per semester or $6,000 per quarter) toward tuition & fees. Type 2 selectees will also receive a monthly living expense and an annual book stipend.
STIPEND ENTITLEMENTS The annual book stipend is $900 per academic year, and the monthly stipend increases based on an individual’s student status.
TRAVEL EXPENSES All high school scholarship recipients are authorized to have their travel expenses covered from their home to the Air Force ROTC detachment’s college where the student enrolls. Reimbursement for travel will be received approximately 30 days after the start of school.
Requirements
Applicants must either be a United States citizen or obtain U.S. citizenship by the last day of the first term of their freshman year.
SAT composite of 1240 or ACT composite of 26.
Cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Applicants must pass a Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB) medical exam.
Complete the Physical Fitness Assessment, which consists of three events: push-ups, crunches and a 1.5-mile run.
STEP 1 Verify eligibility and that you are applying for the correct academic year/cycle.Prospective applicants must intend to enroll in their academic program and enter AFROTC beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. Prospective applicants planning to take one or more gap years between high school graduation and college entrance must apply during the cycle for the academic year in which they intend to enroll in college and begin the AFROTC program.
STEP 2 Start the Application Process by creating a WINGS account.
Step 3 Log into your Air Force ROTC account. Complete and submit the “My Profile” page.
STEP 4 Complete the My AFROTC Application Checklist, to include the Activity Sheet.
STEP 5 Download and print the Counselor Certification Form. Scan and upload the signed counselor certification form and a copy of your official or unofficial high school transcript (must include 9th–11th grade).
STEP 6 Download and print a copy of the Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) worksheet. Take a copy of the PFA worksheet with you when you complete the fitness assessment. Have the examiner fill in all of the information on the form and have him/her sign and date it. After you have completed the fitness assessment, use the worksheet to enter your results electronically. Scan and upload the completed worksheet to the application.
STEP 7 Enter your GPA manually in the fields provided on the application and submit SAT and/or ACT scores electronically through the testing agency using AFROTC Test Code 0548. Enter your GPA electronically in the fields provided.
Ray Bourque Service: $2000 Open to senior high school students of the AFJROTC or CAPS who are in good standing and who have demonstrated support for veterans groups and humanitarian community efforts. Ray Bourque is unsurpassed in volunteering his time not only to a host of ACA efforts, but veteran and humanitarian programs throughout the community. Ray epitomizes the Air Commando ethos of the Quiet Professional. This scholarship is competitive in nature and judged by a committee of ACA members who have no relationship to the candidates. Deadline for this scholarship each year is 30 March, the winner will be announced on 30 April.
Lt Col Dave Krebs High Flight: $4000 Receive a one time four thousand dollar Scholarship. Targeted at students who are committed to pursuing a career in aviation, specifically pilot training. This scholarship is open to senior high school students who are in good standing of the AFJROTC or CAPS. This scholarship is competitive in nature and judged by a committee of ACA members who have no relationship to the candidates. Deadline for this scholarship each year is 30 March, the winner will be announced on 30 April.
Charles Hicks ACA Scholarship:$1,500 The ACA awards four individual Charles Hicks scholarships of $1,500 each. The scholarships will be awarded at the general membership meeting held during the ACA annual convention in October each year. The Board of Directors will randomly select the winners from the eligible candidates submitted by the membership.
The Airmen Memorial Foundation (AMF) conducts scholarship programs to financially assist the undergraduate studies of eligible dependents of military personnel. AMF/CMSAF/AFSA scholarships are valued from $1,000 to $5,000 to students age 23 or younger attending an accredited academic institution.
DEADLINE: Completed application packages with all required documents must be submitted no later than March 31. After March 31, applications are ineligible for consideration.

Each Junior ROTC unit may nominate up to three students who have demonstrated exceptional performance in their JROTC unit and show leadership potential for the JROTC Leadership Award. This award has three levels, valued at $4,000 per year, for a total of $16,000 over a four year course of study; $3,000 per year, for a total of $12,000 over a four-year course of study; and $2,000 per year, for a total of $8,000 over a four-year course of study.

The Seidel Chapter provides a $1000 college scholarship to each of the outstanding AFJROTC graduates from the eleven high schools in our area which offer AFJROTC programs, and who intend to enroll in ROTC in college. In recognition of the lifetime of service that Congressman (USAF Colonel, Ret) Sam Johnson gave to his country and his membership in the Seidel Chapter, the scholarships are named the AFA Seidel Chapter Sam Johnson AFROTC Scholarships. Selected cadets will be recognized for their individual achievements at their high school awards convocation and the selected scholarship winner award will be sent directly to the scholarship office at the cadet’s university; once enrollment is verified and they have enrolled in the ROTC detachment; the scholarship will be deposited in their account. Criteria: Each year, the governor and the lieutenant governor may each appoint two students, and each state senator and state representative may appoint one student to receive a TASSP scholarship. Students must meet specific requirements to be eligible for nomination and to receive a scholarship. Prior to receiving the scholarship, students must agree to certain conditions including a four-year commitment as a member of the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, Texas State Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Merchant Marine or a commissioned officer in any branch of the armed services of the United States. The scholarship becomes a loan if the conditions are not met.

Freshman and sophomore college students may be eligible for the In-College Scholarship Program (ICSP). The program awards scholarships based on merit during two selection phases (fall and spring semesters). Note: AFROTC scholarships do not cover room and board. TYPE 1 Reserved for Commanders’ In-College Scholarships (CICS) offered to cadets pursuing a technical major. It pays 100 percent tuition and authorized fees at any public or private institution with an Air Force ROTC detachment. Selectees also receive a monthly living expense stipend and an annual book stipend. TYPE 2 This is awarded to all cadets selected through the In-College Scholarship Program (ICSP) and pays up to $18,000 per year in college tuition at any public or private institution with an Air Force ROTC detachment. Scholarship payment is further capped at up to $9,000 per semester or up to $6,000 per quarter. Selectees will also receive a monthly living expense stipend and an annual book stipend. GENERAL CHARLES MCGEE LEADERSHIP AWARD (CMLA) This in-college scholarship is awarded to all individuals not already on scholarship who receive an enrollment allocation and thus are selected to commission into the Air or Space Force. It pays $18,000 per year for two years and cannot be applied to graduate studies.
Housing Benefit: Any scholarship awardee will be allowed to convert their award for a $10K-per-academic-year “housing scholarship” used for on-campus housing. This is for room only; board is not included, and the conversion must begin at the start of the fall academic term if exercised.
FRA sponsors an annual essay contest to promote the spirit of Americanism and patriotism among our country’s youth. FRA's Americanism Essay Contest is open to all students, grades 7 through 12, including those who are home schooled. Students are invited to submit a 350-word essay through an FRA member or local FRA branch before the December 1st deadline. Local winners are forwarded for competition at the regional level and regional winners compete for national prizes.
The grand national winner receives $1,500. Other winners receive $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, and $500 for third place. Each national winner will receive an attractive plaque citing his/her achievement, and every entrant judged at the national level receives a certificate of recognition. Prizes may be awarded to students winning at local and regional levels of competition.
The Foundation sponsors a generous scholarship program that helps deserving students reach their educational and professional goals by presenting awards of up to $5,000 to students pursuing trade school, community and four year college, and graduate degrees. The Foundation presents approximately $90,000 each year to recipients based on financial need, academic standing, character and leadership qualities. Must be affiliated with the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard through their own service or that of a spouse, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent. FRA members in good standing, their spouses, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are eligible for a wider range of Foundation scholarships.
Scholarship recipients must be U.S. citizens and full-time students at an accredited U.S. trade school, community college, college or university.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The FRA Education Foundation makes scholarship applications available from September 1 through April 15 each year. All applications and supporting documents must be postmarked no later than April 15th.
All eligible applicants will be considered for any scholarship for which they meet the eligibility requirement (based on the desires of the donor). Scholarship recipients are notified by email during the summer about awards for the school year that starts that fall. FRA only notifies the applicants who have been selected to receive a scholarship. Then, after recipients respond with additional information to determine if they still qualify to receive the scholarship, they receive an official letter signed by the Foundation President.
BVA’s Kathern F. Gruber scholarships are available to spouses, dependent children, and grandchildren of blind and low vision veterans to assist them with their higher education tuition. These military dependent scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit through an application process that is evaluated by a committee. The Gruber scholarships for veterans’ dependents are for one year only but recipients can re-apply and receive the award up to four times. The blind or low vision veteran family member is not required to be a BVA member for the spouse, child, or grandchild to receive a scholarship. https://bva.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/BVA_Gruber_Scholarship_Description_120122-1.pdf The scholarships must be used to defray a student’s cost of expenses for tuition, books, or other academic fees and are payable directly to the institution at the beginning of the fall and spring terms of study. At the time of application, candidates must have already been accepted for admission or be attending an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited institution of higher education or business, secretarial, or vocational training schools as a full-time student.
Applicants must be a direct descendant (child, grandchild, great-grandchild) of a member in good standing since 2021 of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America. If an applicant’s relative is deceased, the member must have been in good standing at the time of his/her death. All members (including Posthumous) must have joined prior to 2020.
Applicants who are descendants of honorary members and Patrons are not eligible.

Established in 1947, the Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, nearly 25,000 ninth through 12th grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $1 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.
The national first place winner receives a $35,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$21,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000. Before submitting your essay, read the rules and eligibility requirements, and find your sponsoring local VFW Post as applications must be turned in by midnight, Oct. 31.
Application Submissions Are Open From April 1st To June 30th 2024 The Purple Heart Scholarship Program is a competitive program that awards scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children, and grandchildren each year.
The Purple Heart Scholarship Committee will evaluate all applications that are timely received and meet the eligibility and application requirements described below. All aspects of the application (academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community and military service, work experience, letters of recommendation, and essay) are considered and evaluated by the Purple Heart Scholarship Committee. The Purple Heart Scholarship Committee shall make all decisions regarding the eligibility for a Scholarship and the award of a Scholarship and all decisions by the Purple Heart Scholarship Committee are final.
Not every applicant will receive a scholarship. This is not a full tuition scholarship. The amount of the scholarship may vary each year subject to funding levels. Purple Heart Scholarship checks are required to be endorsed by both the student and the school. The college or university, therefore, may exercise some control over how the funds are utilized and this can impact the level of financial benefit realized by the student.
ELIGIBILITY
The direct lineal descendent (child, step-child, adopted child, grandchild, step-grandchild, or great grandchild) of a Purple Heart recipient who is a Member of MOPH, or
The spouse, widow/widower, or direct lineal descendent as defined above of a service member killed-in-action or who died of wounds. If the Purple Heart recipient is listed as killed-in-action or died of wounds, supporting documentation and evidence must be included with the application.
A Purple Heart recipient who is not a member of the MOPH can become a member by applying online through the MOPH website: www.PurpleHeart.org. To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, the Purple Heart recipient must be a current member, a member at the time of his or her death, or documented as killed-in-action or has died of wounds. If you do not know whether your lineal descendent was a member of MOPH before his or her passing, please contact MOPH Headquarters for assistance at (888) 668-1656 or (703) 642-5360 and ask for MOPH Membership.
A MOPH Associate membership or membership in the MOPH Auxiliary does not by itself convey scholarship eligibility. It is highly recommended that non-Purple Heart recipients become either Associate members or members of the Auxiliary, and such membership does convey additional credit in the application process.
In order to be eligible to receive a Purple Heart MOPH Scholarship, applicants must meet the following three requirements:
A graduate or upcoming graduate (current senior) of a high school or GED program, and
Accepted by or enrolled as a FULL-TIME* student at an accredited U.S. college, university, or trade school at the time the scholarship is awarded, and
Able to demonstrate the capacity for advanced academic achievement or technical proficiency as demonstrated by maintaining at least a 2.75 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) based on an unweighted 4.0 grading system.
An applicant may receive a maximum of two scholarships awarded in non-consecutive years. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, books, incidental fees, room and board, and other direct costs associated with higher education. Purple Heart scholarship funds cannot be used for transportation expenses, summer school, to pay pre-existing educational loans, or to pay for a special program/ research project.
Women's Army Corps Veterans' Association Scholarship This scholarship is based upon academic achievement and leadership as expressed through co-curricular activities and community involvement. Two (2) $1,500.00 scholarships will be given annually. The recipients are notified by mail or email. Upon notification your college acceptance letter must be forwarded to the below address as checks are forwarded directly to your school of choice.
Is a United States citizen.
Graduating from high school, showing academic promise, with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Include a letter from the high school attending, with transcripts.
Applicants must plan to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited college or university in pursuit of a degree course of study.
Applicants must be a descendent of a Army female veteran (living or deceased) that has served or is serving in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard whether direct or through marriage (descendent, step or adopted).
Proof of female relative's military service must be provided.

Each year the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) grants scholarship awards to deserving young men and women. The number of scholarships awarded is directly related to income received from Foundation investments. Forty (40) or more awards of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) are typically available each year. These $1,500 awards are provided on a one-time, first year basis only. Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be students from accredited high schools who will graduate (or who have graduated) in the spring of their academic cycle. Additionally, those who apply must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least three point zero (3.0) on a four-point scale.
Application Procedure:
Application forms and instructions may be obtained from high school guidance counselors, or a Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. local Chapter. Use the "Chapter Locator" button to find the chapter nearest the applicant. Completed applications must be returned to the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. Chapter nearest the applicant on or before the stated deadline in the application form. Applications that do not meet technical requirements may be eliminated from further consideration.
