Norwich JROTC Leadership Award

  • Time: Each year of college, up to all 4 years
  • Amount: 3 Tiers
    • $4000 per year
    • $3000 per year
    • $2000 per year
  • Application Process: Nominated by SASI/ASI; see SASI/ASI if you are interested
  • Due Date: 31 January​

AFJROTC Character-in-Leadership Scholarship

  • Eligible: 
    • ​Must have completed 2 full academic years of AFJROTC by end of senior year
    • Unweighted GPA of at least 3.0
    • Valid PFT score
    • ACT of 22 or SAT of 1100

  • Time: Covers all 4 years of college. The student would be enrolled in Air Force ROTC and would be Commissioned as an officer upon gradution​
  • Amount:  Provides 100 cadets a full four-year ROTC college scholarship, including room and board, at select Minority Serving Institutions (MSI), Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI). This scholarship was established by former U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff (CSAF) General David L. Goldfein.
  • Application Process: Nominated by SASI/ASI; see SASI/ASI if you are interested; once nominated, Cadet must fill out an application in WINGS​
  • Due Date: Nominations open 20 Sep and are due by 19 Nov

MOAA - Greater Dallas and North Texas Chapter Scholarship

  • Time: awarded when the Cadet begins college; not renewable
  • Amount: 
    • $1000 
  • Application Process: Nominated by SASI/ASI; see SASI/ASI if you are interested; once nominated, Cadet must fill out an application​
  • Due Date: 17 February

Sam Johnson Scholarship Program (AFA Seidel Chapter)

  • Time: awarded when the Cadet begins college; not renewable
  • Amount: 
    • $1000 
    • Cadet competes against 6 other Cadets from other AFJROTC units in the region for an additional one-time $5000 scholarship
  • Application Process: Nominated by SASI/ASI; see SASI/ASI if you are interested; once nominated, Cadet must fill out an application​
  • Due Date: 28 January

Air Commando Association (ACA)

  • Time: awarded when the Cadet begins college; not renewable
  • Amount:

Airmen Memorial Foundation Scholarships

  • Eligible: 
    • ​Unmarried child/adopted or stepchild of active duty, retired or veteran member of USAF, ANG or AFRC.
    • No Officer dependents!
    • Must be age 23 years or younger and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher​
  • Time: awarded when the Cadet begins college; not renewable
  • Amount:
    • Multiple scholarships are available, ranging from $1,000 - $5,000
  • Application Process: Nominated by SASI/ASI; see SASI/ASI if you are interested; once nominated, Cadet must fill out an application
  • Due Date: 31 March

Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP)

  • Criteria: Each year, the governor and the lieutenant governor may each appoint two students, and each state senator and state representative may appoint one student to receive a TASSP scholarship. Students must meet specific requirements to be eligible for nomination and to receive a scholarship. Prior to receiving the scholarship, students must agree to certain conditions including a four-year commitment as a member of the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, Texas State Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Merchant Marine or a commissioned officer in any branch of the armed services of the United States. The scholarship becomes a loan if the conditions are not met.

  • Time: Awarded when the Cadet begins college; each year of college, up to all 4 years
  • Amount:
    • $10,000 per year
  • Application Process: Cadets may apply directly through the office of the Governor, Lt Governor, or their State Senator or State Representative
  • Due Date: Application windows vary. They are typically open around April and close around the end of August

The application process takes a significant amount of time to complete (approx 1 month) and the standards are very high. Please see SASI/ASI as early as possible during your high school career if you are interested in applying for an ROTC scholarship. ​
